Studio City is an iconic part of Los Angeles City, California lying in the San Fernando Valley. It’s a home to many celebrities while others who don’t reside there can be seen around admiring its beauty. Studio City is less populated, and most of its natives include older-aged individuals who are well educated. A larger percentage of its people are military veterans. There are five public and six private schools within its borders.
The area Studio City occupies was formerly called Laurelwood and was a part of Rancho Ex-Mission San Fernando. Various people owned it during the 19 century before J.B. Lankershim and a few other developers owned it to form Lankershim Ranchland and Water Company. However, the region lost its water rights to Los Angeles authorities and could no longer proceed with farming.
When Los Angeles Aqueduct was constructed in 1908, most parts of San Fernando Valley were able to get water. Real estate flourished and a group led by Harry Chandler, a manager at Los Angeles Times, Isaac Van Nuys, James Boon Lankershim and Hobart Johnstone, owned the remaining half (47,500 acres) of the land on the western side of Lankershim town and the southern part of the current day Rosco Boulevard except the Rancho Encino.
Studio City was plotted by Whitley from the existing parts of Lankershim town and the newly acquired eastern parts. Its name was coined from the studios that were started by Mack Sennett in 1927 on a 20 acres land that was donated by a developer.
